You know when you’re on a rollercoaster and instantly regret the decision because the 3 margaritas you inhaled were not, in fact, the precursor to a great time. That’s what this summer feels like. We signed up for fun, sun, and everything else we missed out on during the pandemic, and now we’re stuck with a plethora of regrettable nights due to our “viva la vida” mindset.
Enough about my personal life, though.
This Sunday’s newsletter is all about looking ahead, and imagining a brighter, happier mindset/life.
Delusional? …. When in Rome!
Grab that aperol spritz and start the day with a walk in the park. Pick one of our many “book of the week” books and have a relaxing day with the best company around: yourself
The essentials for such a day are as follows:
A little lip balm to hydrate and keep you looking dewy and glowing. My faves? Kosas Lip Oil and Fresh.
Sunscreen to protect that delicate complexion! Better invest now and save money on the Botox later. Just kidding. Kind of. (Supergoop and La Mer)
A Hair Claw is the go to summer accessory of this season. Why not experiment with a fun style, color and design?
Effortless chic is this week’s motto, so relax, stay hydrated, and enjoy the much needed ‘you’ time.
Monday Mantra (Monday’s are a bitch, you don’t have to be)
Your Monday Mantra to start this week is:
I am ready to accept all the good that is coming my way. I am full of gratitude, love, and happiness.
Book of the Week: The Children of Jocasta
In The Children of Jocasta, Natalie Haynes takes a fresh perspective on an ancient story, reimagining in gripping prose how the Oedipus and Antigone stories would look if the oft-overlooked female characters took centre stage. Retelling the myth to reveal a new side of an ancient story.
Song of the Week: The Lumineers - Ophelia
