Sunday after Sunday this past summer has felt like a sisyphean task of trying to forget the damage i’ve caused my body Thursday to Saturday, and feigning casual amnesia. While, for the most part, it’s worked out well for me, I've started to feel the overbearing weight of my irresponsible actions as September looms near, and I haven't done anything to prepare for it. And I mean that both mentally and physically. So, this Sunday is all about preparing ourselves for the eventual onslaught of September. To avoid the September post-summer scaries, we must first ready our minds and our spirits!
I’m talking facemasks, I’m talking at-home spa procedures, even something as small as a faceroll morning followed by a lavender scented bath. Compartmentalize your mind by taking care of your body. Whilst in a face mask, organize your documents for the coming work month- organize your closets, drawers, anything that turned chaotic starting June, clean it and start fresh! Don’t put it off until the last weekend before summer’s end, filling yourself with anxiety and a sense of doom!
September Scaries Checklist:
Start your sunday with this Glamglow Face Mask and begin your checklist of what needs to be reorganized around the house
Prioritize the checklist by most urgent/important to least- this will help you find a starting point!
Proceed with the list whilst creating a bath filled with Lavender Bubbles and these rejuvenation epsom salts as you will need it in between the hard day’s work
Take off the mask and faceroll your face with this iced roller to create some circulation
Take a bath and completely clear your mind of any residual thoughts
After the bath, proceed with your skincare routine- which should include a serum or oil, moisturizer, and an eye cream
Et voila! You are on your way to greet this September-ready, glowing, and recharged.
Monday Mantra (Monday’s are a bitch, you don’t have to be)
Your Monday Mantra to start this week is:
This is the start of the best week of my life.
Book of the Week: The Six - Laura Thompson
Follow the incredible lives of the infamous, trailblazing, and often-times polarizing, Mitford sisters. Born into privilege and pedigree, the 6 sisters all went on to achieve notoriety in their own fields-from a friendship with the most reviled German dictator, to a future duchess, each sister lived a life of her own and walked to the beat of her own drum. This book has it all: scandal, intrigue, romance, and death.
Song of the Week: Walls - Tiesto
