We are nearing the end of summer, and like the back to school days of yore, it brings with it a certain feeling of excitement- a new start, a new chapter, and the promise of the unknown. For those of us with crippling anxiety that have a hard time handling anything uncertain or new, I propose a different kind of homework: practicing a state of mind and body that is so tranquil that no amount of uncertainty or the unknown can hinder your peace and equilibrium. For me, that looks like meditation, comforting baths, and breathing techniques that grounds even the most nervous of us! Below, some of the breathing exercises that helped me start to pave the path to a calmer and more tranquil state of mind.

In addition to breathing for your body, there are other things you can do that instill the confidence that you may be lacking for that prosperous, fresh new start. A planner to organize all your thoughts, goals, and steps for the next few months. A timetable to productively schedule out your day. Even something as small as making a one-day-a-week appointment that is just for you! It is the small things that make a difference on the grand scale of things- you want to live your life beautifully and to its full potential, so whatever small practices aid you in that quest must be adhered to!

This week, your purpose should be for you; a complete focus on what will work best for you in the coming days/weeks/months, so you can be the best version of yourself to your family, your friends, and most of all, yourself.
