When it’s a particularly crazy and hazy Sunday, I love nothing more than to hibernate and pretend the world beyond me doesn’t exist so anything said or done in said world? Also does not exist. It’s those particularly hard mornings in which I find it’s most important to ground myself and get back in touch with the most basic and yet most important of my mental health routines - my positive mindful meditations.
Whilst they may seem silly or somewhat ridiculous from the outside, these rituals guide me in more ways than one when it comes to grounding me back to where I want my mind and spirit to be. Whether it’s chanting a mantra of positivity, or following a 15 minute uplifting guided meditation- it not only helps, but prepares me for whatever the week ahead has in store. These meditative rituals are simple as they can be done anywhere and everywhere. If I feel that I need more uplifting energy that day, I’ll do them on my walk and before bed- or I’ll do them as I eat breakfast and then as I’m resting. The great thing about finding something so ritualistic and constant is that there are no rules; the only rule is consistency. The consistent need to maintain positive mental well-being.
